I attended the SheLeads: How To Be Engaged & Empowered w/ Bumble & WeWork event at the WeWork Thanksgiving Tower in Dallas -- who by the way has... (the worst underground parking building ever-in-life)
TAKEAWAYS:
Your Brand Is How You Present Yourself *that's a given*
What you LIKE, POST and ENGAGE with on social media is your brand
Intangible Qualities are superior (you may be the smartest, but all this means crap if you've got no character)
Be your authentic self, it's cumbersome to be one person in the office and another person off work hours
If you're an entrepreneur -- no one goes in knowing what they're going to do -- you figure it out along the way, you will make mistakes
Mistakes are OK
My honest assessment... the only value I received from this event, is knowing about the WeWork space, I didn't learn anything new or something that I haven't heard already. The room seemed a lot younger, so maybe it was geared towards them (Bumble demographic). I did, however, enjoy Social Revolt Agency's CEO, Marty Martinez's authentic candor on his progression toward starting his agency. Good stuff -- he told a story (our brains know stories, and we like stories).
p.p.s. I spilled my plate to the floor... I wanted it so freakin' bad...lol The Bumble Swag branding was superb! Yet, I'm still trying to understand its brand repositioning into more 'professional spaces' if they're only a tinder-esque dating app. It could seem like a good fit, but read the retractable banner -- it's weird. "Be The CEO YOUR PARENTS ALWAYS WANTED YOU TO MARRY. (then find someone you actually like). Someone, please enlighten me.
